How do I cancel my Shopify store?

Are you sure you want to leave us? We would love it if you stayed.

Not ready to launch your store?

If you're not ready to launch your store, you don't have to permanently close your account. Trial stores will automatically expire after 14 days and go into a frozen state. You can re-open the store at any time.

Open stores can be put on hold. To set this up:

  1. From your shop admin, go to the Settings > Account page.

  2. Scroll down to the section entitled "Cancel or put your store on hold".

    #

  3. Under the header Put your store on hold, click Find out more.

  4. It costs $14 per month to keep a store on hold. This disables the checkout, but keeps it online for a reduced cost. This means customers can see your products but cannot purchase them. It also means the work you've done on your store will be saved and hosted by us.

  5. Click Yes, I want to put my store on hold to confirm.

At any time, you can click to Change plan type in Settings > Account page to open the store for business again.
